Getting around

How FL1 finds its way.

FL1 reads the room with LiDAR and 3D cameras. It goes to a person, not just to a point on a map.

Reads table numbers

Finds the table from its number, like a human server would.

Goes to the person

Stops next to the customer, not just at the table. Still in testing.

Finds a new path

Changes its route when people move or children play.

Stops for obstacles

Sees children, chairs and moving things, and stops or goes around them.

What is the FoodLink System FL1 robot?

FL1 is the robot platform that Pip, the conversational AI agent, runs on in customer venues. The chassis comes from an OEM partner; FoodLink System engineers everything above it: Pip, the integrations and the deployment. FL1 moves on its own with LiDAR SLAM navigation, carries 3 trays, and has a touch screen for Pip and a tall campaign screen. It is built for restaurants, cafes, salons and supermarkets.

How does FL1 get around without changes to my venue?

FL1 uses LiDAR SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) to build a map of your venue. There are no ceiling markers, floor tracks or renovations. Our engineers map your layout once during setup, and FL1 moves on its own from there.

How much can FL1 carry?

FL1 carries up to 45 kg in total, across 3 trays of 15 kg each. It gets through aisles as narrow as 46 cm.

How long does the FL1 battery last?

FL1 runs for about 10 hours on one charge, on the manufacturer’s rating for its 25Ah battery. That covers a normal working day. It charges in 4 to 5 hours and returns to its dock on its own when the battery runs low.

How long does it take to set up FL1?

Setup usually takes about 48 hours. FoodLink System engineers map your layout, set up your tables and train your staff on site.
